Rules

First Baptist Athletics (FBA) has its own set of rules for each sport.  These are designed to help each child develop, give every child as near equal an opportunity to play as possible, and make sure that every child learns the game.  The rules are graduated, so that as the child grows older, the rules become closer to the accepted standards for that sport.  In the absense of a specific FBA rule, we use Little League rules for Baseball; ASA rules for Softball, FIFA laws for Soccer; and IHSAA rules for Basketball and Teen Baseball.

Coaches

FBA coaches and assistant coaches are usually parents with experience in the game and at FBA.  All coaches must fill out an application, have a background check, and be approved by our athletic director.  A coaches meeting is held before the season begins to learn FBA game philosophy, rules, and expectations.  Commissioners are appointed by the athletic director and work with the coaches to assure that league play meets FBA standards and that players are treatly fairly and with respect.

Parent Expectations

FBA adheres to the philosophy that "It's for the kids."  Our FBA rules for each sport are designed to teach children the game and respect for each other as well as the coaches and officials.  We expect our parents and coaches to model good sportsmanship at all costs.  The FBA goal is for the sports experience to be positive and educational.
